All key elements to Hal Ashby's brilliant film 'Being There', starring Peter Sellers and Shirley MacLaine in what was to be Sellers last and perhaps best role besides 'Strangelove'. If you haven't seen it, it's a total winner.When pressed for answers, Chance the Gardener aka Chauncey Gardener (Sellers) simply replies, "I like to watch," as he continues flipping channels on the TV. The final line from the film sums it up best: "Life is a state of mind."
